Clinical Role

Join an established hospital cardiology team in Greensboro, North Carolina, providing adult inpatient cardiology coverage as a second-call provider. This long-term locums opportunity offers a flexible schedule requiring a minimum of one week and one weekend per month, with no requirement for consecutive shifts. Responsibilities include cardiology consultations, evaluation and management services, and interpretation of echocardiography and nuclear studies performed in the hospital.

Assignment Details

Contract Length:

52 weeks

Schedule:

Minimum of 1 week per month and 1 weekend per month, as needed for scheduling.

Shifts do not need to be consecutive.

Shift Details:

• Monday-Thursday: 8:00 PM-6:00 AM (10 hours)
• Friday: 8:00 PM-7:00 AM (11 hours)
• Saturday: 5:00 PM-7:00 AM (14 hours)
• Sunday: 5:00 PM-6:00 AM (13 hours)

Coverage Requirements:

• Days, nights, and weekend coverage
• Serve as second-call cardiology coverage
• Minimum 1 week per month
• Minimum 1 weekend per month

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide second-call cardiology coverage
• Perform cardiology consultations upon request
• Provide evaluation and management services
• Care for patients admitted under Cone Health Heartcare
• Read echocardiography studies performed in the hospital
• Read nuclear cardiology studies performed in the hospital
• Evaluate and manage adult cardiology patients
• Communicate recommendations with the admitting and care teams

Procedures Required:

No procedures required.

Primary responsibilities are consultation, evaluation and management, and interpretation of cardiac imaging studies.

Monthly Coverage:

• Minimum 1 week per month

Requirements

• Board Certified Cardiology - Required
• Active North Carolina Medical License - Required
• DEA - Required
• ACLS - Required
• BLS - Required
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience - Required
• Local candidates only

Credentialing

Estimated credentialing timeframe is approximately 60-90 days.
