Job Description Position Description for Sr. WordPress Developer Apollidon Learning, an online program management firm serving higher education institutions, is seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and talented Sr. WordPress Developer who will thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for crafting and implementing custom WordPress themes and plugins while maintaining the highest code quality standards. Proficiency in React, Node.js, and TypeScript is a must as you’ll be developing complex, responsive, and interactive websites. The Sr. WordPress Developer position reports to the Director of Web Development Services. Core Roles and Responsibilities Lead the development of custom WordPress themes and plugins with a clean, intuitive design. Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of all WordPress installations. Implement front-end interfaces using React.js and manage application state with Redux (if applicable). Build and support back-end services with Node.js. Leverage TypeScript to ensure type safety and maintainability of the codebase. Collaborate with designers to match visual design intent. Optimize websites for maximum speed and scalability. Provide technical support and maintenance for existing applications. Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers. Requirements Minimum 4-6 years of hands‑on experience as a WordPress Developer. Strong experience in custom WordPress theme and plugin development. Knowledge in React and proficiency using and developing Gutenberg blocks. Ability to create responsive designs and interactive elements. In-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS while using Tailwind CSS. A detail-oriented approach to development and problem-solving. Excellent understanding of website architecture and aesthetics. Nice to Have A portfolio of custom solutions developed in WordPress. Familiarity with additional JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks and libraries. Experience with Node.js and TypeScript in a production environment. Understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them. What We Offer Competitive compensation package.
