About the Role

The ALL Family of Companies, one of the largest privately owned crane rental and sales enterprises in North America, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our in-house Legal Department at our corporate headquarters in Independence, Ohio.

This position offers an attorney with approximately 2–4 years of experience the opportunity to develop a broad in-house practice while working directly with senior attorneys and business leaders across a large, multi-state organization.

The Corporate Counsel will be a member of a collaborative legal team and will work closely with the General Counsel, Director of Risk Management, and other members of the Legal Department. The successful candidate will handle matters independently within assigned areas while also assisting senior attorneys with a wide variety of legal and business issues.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include a combination of the following:

• Assist senior members of the Legal Department with collections, contracts, claims, transactions, and special projects.
• Manage and advise on commercial collection matters, including working with business units, customers and outside counsel.
• Conduct research and provide practical advice regarding issues affecting the Company's operations.
• Assist with corporate governance, regulatory and compliance matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and other business agreements.
• Assist with insurance claims adjusting.
• Work directly with Company management and operating personnel to identify and address legal issues.
• Develop an understanding of the Company's operations and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Handle additional legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel and other senior attorneys.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law and in good standing in the state of Ohio.
• Approximately 2–4 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience in a corporate legal department or law firm handling commercial, corporate, construction, litigation, collections or related matters is preferred.
• Strong writing, analytical and contract-drafting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities.
• Sound judgment and the ability to identify when matters require escalation.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, executives, managers and employees at all levels within the organization, as well as with customers, service providers, and business partners.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to communicate professionally and effectively.
• Practical, business-oriented approach to legal issues.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small legal team.
