Staff Platform Engineer

To support the development of Acorn, the next-generation CDP and messaging platform, the fully remote Staff Platform Engineer will design system architecture, build safety mechanisms for AI agents, and lead incident management for a platform handling over 500K events per second. Key responsibilities Own infrastructure design, scaling, and cost management for automated deployment processes Develop and implement guardrails and validation systems to ensure safe operations of AI agents Lead incident response and create runbooks for novel failures and operational challenges Required qualifications 5+ years of experience managing production Kubernetes and AWS cloud infrastructure Proficiency in Terraform and GitOps/Kustomize with a focus on automation and idempotency Real-world incident response experience in distributed systems, including databases and streaming services Understanding of data systems, including Postgres and columnar stores, under load conditions Ability to collaborate with AI agents, designing checks and runbooks for safe automation
