SAP Access Control Engineer [Remote]

This role offers the opportunity to design and strengthen enterprise SAP security frameworks within complex business environments.
The position focuses on protecting critical SAP landscapes through access governance, authorization management, and compliance-driven solutions.
You will work across SAP platforms including S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, Fiori, BTP, and SuccessFactors to ensure secure and efficient operations.

Accountabilities:

The SAP Access Control Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing SAP security and access-control solutions across enterprise environments. This role will support secure user access, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of SAP governance processes while partnering with technical and business stakeholders.

• Design, implement, and maintain SAP authorization concepts, security roles, and access-control frameworks across complex SAP landscapes.
• Manage SAP GRC Access Control capabilities, including Access Risk Analysis (ARA), Access Request Management (ARM), Business Role Management (BRM), and Emergency Access Management (EAM).
• Perform segregation-of-duties (SoD) analysis, identify access risks, and support remediation activities to maintain compliance standards.
• Support SAP security operations across S/4HANA, ECC, BW/4HANA, Fiori, BTP, and SuccessFactors environments.
• Configure and support SAP access governance processes, user provisioning workflows, and identity management integrations.
• Assist with SAP audit preparation, evidence collection, control validation, and remediation initiatives.
• Collaborate with audit, compliance, business, and technology teams to ensure secure and effective access management practices.
• Support SAP Process Control activities and contribute to continuous controls monitoring initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, security procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Evaluate opportunities to improve SAP security processes, automation, and governance capabilities.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has strong SAP security and GRC expertise, with hands-on experience managing enterprise SAP access-control environments. The role requires technical depth, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience working in SAP Security and SAP GRC environments.
• Strong understanding of SAP authorization concepts, security role design, and access governance principles.
• Hands-on experience with SAP GRC Access Control modules, including ARA, ARM, BRM, and EAM.
• Experience supporting SAP audits, compliance reviews, and security remediation activities.
• Knowledge of securing SAP Fiori, BTP, and cloud-based SAP applications.
• Familiarity with SAP Identity Management (SAP IDM) or third-party Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) platforms.
• Working knowledge of SAP Process Control and regulatory frameworks such as SOX, GxP, and PCI.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with SAP Cloud Identity services, including IAS, IPS, and SCIM-based integrations, is preferred.
• Familiarity with HANA security, analytic privileges, continuous controls monitoring, and SAP RISE/Grow security models is a plus.
• SAP Security or GRC certifications are preferred.
