Director of Operations

Mid South Extrusion (MSE) is a family-owned manufacturer of innovative flexible films headquartered in Monroe, Louisiana. For nearly four decades, MSE has built its reputation on quality, technical expertise, responsive service, and long‑term customer partnerships. As MSE continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced operations leader to help shape what comes next. The Opportunity: The Director of Operations will provide strategic leadership across MSE's Production and Maintenance functions, with responsibility for operational performance, manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, process discipline, safety, and continuous improvement. This is a high-level leadership position for someone who can think strategically while staying connected to the realities of the manufacturing floor. The right candidate will be expected to strengthen systems, establish accountability, develop leaders, improve operational consistency, and build the infrastructure needed to support MSE's continued growth. This person will work closely with MSE's leadership team and cross-functional departments to align operations with broader business goals. Key Responsibilities: Lead Production and Maintenance operations across MSE's manufacturing facilities. Establish clear operational standards, expectations, metrics, and accountability. Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, reliability, and cost performance. Develop and strengthen production and maintenance leadership. Build a proactive culture around equipment reliability and preventive maintenance. Champion safety, quality, compliance, and operational discipline. Use data and operational metrics to identify opportunities and drive informed decisions. Partner with Technical, Quality, Compliance, Supply Chain, and Production Control teams. Support long‑term planning, capital investments, and initiatives that strengthen MSE's ability to scale. What We're Looking For: We are seeking an experienced manufacturing leader with: 10+ years of experience in production and/or maintenance management within films, packaging, plastics, or a related manufacturing environment. Proven experience leading complex manufacturing operations and cross‑functional teams. A track record of improving processes, performance, and accountability. Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, equipment, and operational performance. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision‑making skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
