Phlebotomist

Job Description Phlebotomist (Part‑time) at BioLife. The role is designed for individuals seeking flexible schedules and extra income while gaining experience in plasma donation collection and processing. About the role Each day you will interact with donors, perform venipuncture and operate plasmapheresis equipment, ensuring quality and safety throughout the donation process. How you will contribute Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor. Perform venipuncture and program the plasmapheresis machine. Monitor donors during the donation process and manage any donor reactions. Set up, verify, operate, and troubleshoot plasmapheresis equipment within the scope of training. Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on the plasmapheresis machines. Stock supplies, break down empty cartons, and assist with proper disposal. Take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and other measures; monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system. Perform finger sticks, test samples, and record hematocrit, total protein, and weight. Enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS). Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors using the debit card system. Support center management in identifying operational improvement opportunities and initiating changes to center processes using 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees. Capable of lifting items up to 5 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 32 lbs., sometimes 50 lbs. Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance. Increased glove wear is required for 90% of tasks due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1). Minimum of 1 year experience in a customer- or patient-facing role is helpful. Compensation and Benefits Hourly wage: $17.00 (subject to state or local minimum wage requirements). Eligibility for short‑term incentives.
