Vice President, Commercial Lending

Job Description

A growing and well-established credit union in Northern Virginia is seeking a Regional Vice President of Commercial Lending to drive new business and expand its commercial loan portfolio.

This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role focused on originating commercial loans, managing a portfolio, and building strong connections within the local business community.

What You’ll Do

Originate new commercial loans, including:
- Commercial Real Estate (CRE)
- C&I (Commercial & Industrial)
- Lines of Credit
- Equipment Financing
Achieve annual production goals (~$15M in new loans)
Build and maintain a strong pipeline through networking and referrals (CPAs, attorneys, brokers)
Manage and grow an existing portfolio of business clients
Cross-sell treasury/cash management and deposit products
Pre-screen and structure deals prior to underwriting
Partner with internal credit teams to move deals through closing
Maintain strong presence in the Northern VA business community through events and associations

✅ What We’re Looking For

8+ years of commercial lending experience
Proven track record of loan origination / production
Experience with CRE and C&I lending required
Strong business development and relationship management skills
Experience managing a commercial loan portfolio
Ability to analyze financials and assess creditworthiness
Established network in Northern Virginia is a strong plus
Background in banking or credit union environment

Existing book of business or strong referral network
Experience cross-selling treasury or cash management solutions
Familiarity with NCUA regulations (credit union experience)
