Web Application Security Engineer

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Web Application Security Engineer.
 
Position type: Contract (12 months w/ extension)
Location: Charlotte, NC/ Chandler, AZ/ Las Colinas, TX
Hybrid (3 days onsite/ 2 day remote)
 
As a Web Application Security Engineer, you will:
 
Day to Day Responsibilities

• Configure and support layer 7 web security controls including rate limiting, WAF, bot mitigation, client lists, geolocation, mTLS, and certificates.
• Ensure secure operation of internet-facing web applications through advanced security practices.
• Manage DNS, geographic, and local load balancing configurations supporting traffic.
• Implement and maintain firewall policies for web application security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across multi-layer enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to align security controls with business needs.
• Work within a product model using Jira/Kanban to manage tasks and workflows.
• Support enterprise change management processes for secure deployment of web security configurations.

 
Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in web application security engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of web applications, and web application security controls.
• Understanding of DNS, load balancing (geographic and local), and firewall policies.
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex enterprise systems.
• Experience working in Agile product models using Jira/Kanban.
• Familiarity with enterprise change management practices.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: Between $50 - $56 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
