We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and contributing to a positive environment for our residents.Position SummaryThe Part-Time Maintenance Assistant at Derby Health & Rehab assists with the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility. The Maintenance Assistant helps ensure that Derby Health & Rehab remains a safe, comfortable, and attractive environment for residents, visitors, and team members.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with general maintenance and repair projects throughout Derby Health & Rehab.Perform routine inspections of facility equipment and systems.Help maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and outdoor grounds.Complete minor plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and repair tasks.Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.Assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment operates efficiently.Maintain facility safety standards and comply with all regulatory requirements.Help keep Derby Health & Rehab clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and seasonal projects as needed.Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards to the Maintenance Director or Administrator.Participate in emergency preparedness and facility safety procedures.Preferred QualificationsPrevious maintenance, handyman, facilities, or building maintenance experience preferred.Painting experience is highly recommended.Candidates with experience in drywall repair, drywall patching, texture matching, and interior painting are strongly encouraged to apply.Ability to prepare, repair, patch, texture, and paint walls, ceilings, and other interior surfaces while maintaining a professional appearance throughout the facility.Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building repairs.Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.Additional Position HighlightsAt Derby Health & Rehab, we take pride in maintaining a clean, attractive, and welcoming environment for our residents.
