This role drives the design, selection, and implementation of modern infrastructure solutions across the Royal Caribbean technology portfolio. As a hands-on engineering leader, the Lead Engineer owns solutions end-to-end—from discovery and architecture through deployment and operational readiness—working closely with infrastructure teams, product owners, enterprise architects, and operations engineers. The role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), infrastructure automation, container platforms, and DevOps practices, with a strong focus on building secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions aligned to business outcomes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Solution Architecture & Engineering LeadershipDesign and deliver infrastructure solutions across Royal Caribbean Group’s enterprise technology landscapeAct as solution owner from project inception through production deliveryLead technical discovery sessions to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical designsDrive standardization, best practices, and reusable design patterns across infrastructure domainsCloud & Infrastructure EngineeringArchitect and implement cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or GCPDesign and deploy compute, storage, networking, and platform services with a security-first mindsetPartner with specialized infrastructure teams to deliver integrated solutions spanning:End-user computingCloud platformsNetworkingDatabases and middlewareEnterprise applicationsAutomation, DevOps & Platform EnablementDevelop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates, and CloudFormationImplement and enhance CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning and updatesAutomate operational processes including:ScalingMonitoring and alertingPatch and configuration managementDeploy and operate containerized workloads using Docker and KubernetesDelivery, Risk & Stakeholder ManagementCoordinate solution delivery across multiple infrastructure teams to ensure aligned executionProvide clear, regular status updates to technical and non-technical stakeholdersIdentify, manage, and mitigate technical risks and cross-team dependenciesEnsure solutions adhere to governance, security, compliance, and FinOps standardsInnovation & Talent DevelopmentLead hands-on R&D and proof-of-concept efforts to evaluate emerging technologiesMentor and coach junior engineers on cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps best practicesServe as a thought leader in modern infrastructure engineering and platform designQualifications, Knowledge & Skills:Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related technology rolesTechnical ExpertiseDeep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); multi-cloud experience preferredStrong proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools:TerraformAnsibleCloudFormationARM TemplatesExperience with database platforms, middleware, and enterprise workloadsStrong understanding of DevOps practices and platform automationTools & PlatformsCI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, and ArgoCDDocker and Kubernetes for containerized workloadsMonitoring, logging, and cloud-native operational toolingLeadership & Strategic SkillsStrong technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to facilitate collaboration across engineering, operations, and architecture teamsExperience designing holistic, scalable solutions that align with long-term enterprise strategySolid understanding of:IT governance frameworksSecurity and compliance best practicesFinOps principles and cloud cost optimizationAgency and Third-Party Submissions: Please note this is a direct search by the Company, and applications through agencies and other third parties will not be accepted, nor will fees be paid for unsolicited resumes.
