DIRECTOR, WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS

Position Overview Reporting to the Head of Warehouse Operations, the Warehouse Director plays a critical role in supporting Baby2Baby’s warehouse and distribution functions, with primary responsibility for the organization’s main distribution centre. This position serves as a key partner and right‑hand to the Head of Warehouse Operations, initially gaining hands‑on knowledge of day‑to‑day warehouse operations before expanding into broader oversight of our warehouses and the management of team members. This role is designed to evolve over time and requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to step into operational challenges as they arise. The Warehouse Director should bring a broad understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, order fulfilment, and third‑party logistics (3PLs). This position is based primarily at Baby2Baby’s Van Nuys distribution centre (16333 Raymer Street, Van Nuys, CA 91406) and will provide support to additional facilities as needed, including locations in Culver City and Santa Monica, CA. This is a fully onsite role, five days per week, working across both office and warehouse environments. Duties and Responsibilities Supports operations at the Van Nuys distribution centre by partnering closely with the warehouse managers and becoming deeply immersed in Baby2Baby’s warehouse processes. Collaborates with the Procurement Manager on inventory planning, space allocation, and storage strategy for purchased goods. Partners with the Head of Warehouse Operations to identify and implement efficiency improvements in order fulfilment, including transitioning from manual processes to digital systems. Partners with the Inventory Manager and Warehouse Managers to maintain and update inbound inventory tracking. Supports physical inventory counts in partnership with the Inventory Manager. Partners with the 3PL Manager to provide oversight of third‑party warehouse operations and ensure effective communication between all warehouse locations. Oversees and supports warehouse managers across Baby2Baby‑staffed warehouse facilities. Works with Warehouse Managers to ensure supplies are ordered and stocked consistently. Provides backup coverage for Warehouse Managers during absences. Supports operations at other Baby2Baby warehouse locations as needed. Additional Responsibilities Provides clear, concise written and verbal updates to the Head of Warehouse Operations. Operates pallet jacks and forklifts when required (training or certification may be necessary). Performs additional warehouse‑related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 8‑10 years of warehouse experience and at least 2 years of logistics experience. Minimum of 2 years management experience. Proficient in computer use, including data entry and inventory/warehouse management systems (WMS). Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform high‑level calculations. Solid understanding of inventory control procedures and best practices. Experience working within warehouses and partnering with 3PLs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with both internal teams and external partners. Highly organised and able to work independently or as part of a team. Forklift operator certification is a plus. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed. Capable of navigating warehouse environments and retrieving items from varying heights. This role’s salary range is between $100k – $120k/yr. Actual salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
