This is a partial remote role with real courtroom work and a clear path to growth within a specialty lines practice.What you get:$115,000 to $160,000 a yearPartial remote work flexibilityFull benefits packageCareer advancement in a stable and growing firmA people first work environment with over a century of combined trial experience on the teamOpportunity to contribute to and grow within a specialty lines insurance defense practiceWhat you will be doing:Defending clients in D&O, E&O and professional liability mattersHandling a diverse caseload of general liability insurance defense matters with emphasis on specialty linesManaging cases from initial assignment through resolution including investigation, discovery, depositions, motions and trialAnalyzing liability, damages, coverage issues and litigation exposureDrafting and reviewing pleadings, motions, discovery and legal memorandaCommunicating regularly with insurance carriers, claims professionals, opposing counsel and expertsManaging case deadlines, budgets and a 1,950 annual billable hour requirementWhat you need to bring:Active Illinois Bar admission in good standingFive or more years of insurance defense experience in IllinoisStrong background in general liability defense litigationExperience independently managing litigation matters from assignment through resolutionD&O and E&O professional liability experience strongly preferredIndiana Bar admission preferredExisting book of business or demonstrated ability to develop business is a plusExperience working directly with insurance carriers and sophisticated corporate clients preferredThis is a partial remote role based in Chicago, Illinois.
