Knowledge Management Team Director

Job Summary The firm's Knowledge Management Team is seeking a Knowledge Management Team Director. This role will lead a team of Knowledge Management Attorneys ("KMAs") who support the needs of the firm’s practice and industry groups. The position reports to the Senior Director of Practice Enablement and works closely with National Practice and Industry Heads and Practice and Industry Group Leaders. Responsibilities Lead the KM team in content creation and development across all practice and industry groups, including legislative updates, case law updates, industry trends, and legal analysis. Review, edit and contribute to content such as speeches, articles, blogs, presentations and webinars generated by other firm resources. Ensure practice and industry groups’ intranet content is current and accurate. Build and maintain content libraries, model documents, forms, precedents, checklists, and related resources. Keep practice and industry group leadership and attorney membership up to date on strategic shifts and evolutions. Partner with central firm resources to leverage firm-wide and practice-specific tools, processes and technologies. Identify and leverage enterprise technology investments at the practice and industry level. Champion adoption of firm-wide practice support resources (training, coaching, talent resources, communication platforms). Provide strategic insights and direction to practice and industry group initiatives and special projects. Manage and lead the KMA and Practice Coordination Team, setting goals, providing mentorship and overseeing performance. Align KMA efforts with firm-wide goals in partnership with senior leaders. Create and maintain a high-performance collaborative culture within the team and with practice/industry groups. Develop key performance indicators and report on the impact of KMA work to leadership. Serve as liaison between the team and other departments (IT, Innovation, Marketing, Talent). Partner with practice innovation attorneys and innovation team to implement new technologies for attorneys. Maintain knowledge of trends in legal practice support, content development, and knowledge strategy. Qualifications J.D. degree required. Minimum 10–12+ years of experience as an employment litigator and/or knowledge management attorney, with a balance of practicing litigation. Minimum 3+ years leading a team of attorneys with strong leadership and people-management skills or large cross-departmental projects. Excellent writing and communication skills. Passion for knowledge sharing, organizational skills, technological proficiency, and aptitude for innovation and efficiency. Salary & Benefits For Colorado, New York, Chicago and Seattle, WA, the expected salary range is $190,000–$220,000, with annual bonuses.
