Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $21 - $29 / hour*

What You'll Be Doing as a General Maintenance Worker:

• Delivers and installs refrigerators; removes defective refrigerators and returns them to the maintenance yard

• Pours concrete, repairs damaged concrete

• Paints main valve covers; performs various minor painting work

• Inspects perimeter wall and barbed wire; repairs damaged areas

• Records time, materials and related information on Service Repair Orders

• Assist co-workers when necessary

• Repairs or replaces window and sliding door screens

• Repairs of washers and dryers

• Repairs locks; makes keys

• Perform other tasks as assigned based on departmental needs

Shift timings - 1st Shift (Day)

Job Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady

• General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical and cement work

• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices

• Ability to learn to use all tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair work

• Ability to operate a 2-way radio

• Frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing and reaching

• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 250 pounds with mechanical assistance

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

• Close and distance vision, depth perception, and good vision are required

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and uses time appropriate to work related duties

• Communicates clearly and respectfully in both verbal and written forms appropriate to a support role

• Listens attentively, follows instructions, and seeks clarification when needed

• Maintains discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive resident or organizational information

• Prioritizes daily tasks independently and adapts to changing assignments or resident needs

• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and emotional maturity when interacting with residents, staff, and outside agencies

• Applies problem-solving skills to routine challenges and escalates complex issues appropriately

• Understands and adheres to established policies, procedures, and organizational protocols

• High school diploma or GED required.

• CPR, AED, and First Aid training (provided by GRF upon employment)

• Valid California Driver License

• Background check and Drug test required
