Surgery - Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner

DocStar Medical Partners has a new Neurosurgery PA/NP locums opportunity in California with an ongoing need. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced Neurosurgery APP looking for a consistent 4-day workweek with no weekends and a mix of clinic, inpatient, and OR responsibilities.

• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Weekends: None
• Credentialing: days, with ability to expedite
• EMR: Cerner
• License: Active California license required
• Requirements: BC, DEA, BLS; accredited PA program or ACNP equivalent

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Initial consults, pre-ops, H&Ps, follow-ups and post-ops, with a heavy emphasis on spine
• Clinic volume averages patients/day
• OR averages 2 3 cases/day
• Hospital rounds in the ICU and surgical unit
• Surgical assisting, inpatient consults, discharges and care coordination
• Managing EVDs, surgical drains, ICP monitors and lumbar drains
• Minor bedside procedures and general critical-care neurological management
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with the full Neurosurgery team

Ideal Experience:
The facility prefers 2+ years of Neurosurgery PA/NP experience across outpatient, inpatient and OR settings. However, on-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
