Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Description The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for administering medications and treatments to residents under the supervision of licensed nursing staff while ensuring resident safety, comfort, and well-being. The CMA works closely with nurses, caregivers, residents, and families to support quality care and enhance the resident experience. Long-term care & Assisted/Independent Living available! What You'll Do:
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility policies
- Accurately document medication administration and resident responses
- Observe residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, or adverse reactions and report concerns to licensed nursing staff
- Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition
- Maintain medication carts, storage areas, and records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure medications are handled, stored, and administered safely
- Support residents with dignity, respect, and compassion
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to provide high-quality care
- Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards
- Assist during emergencies and respond appropriately to resident needs
- Current Texas Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification required
- Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). Required in long-term care
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, or healthcare experience preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused
