This role is responsible for overseeing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit accounting, grant tracking, and financial reporting. This position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting audits, and providing insights that help drive our mission forward./ppResponsibilities:/pulliManage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing./liliReconcile bank and credit card statements./liliPost and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts./liliPrepare and reconcile grants and other restricted funds for the current fiscal year./liliEnter and maintain financial transactions, including sales receipts, invoices, and bills, in accounting software./liliProcess payments for operational expenses including rent, utilities, and supplies./liliGenerate and interpret monthly financial statements for management review./liliEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures./liliProvide financial analysis, data, reports, and other fiscally relevant information as needed./liliAssist in the annual independent financial audit by preparing schedules, worksheets, and other required documentation./liliSupport month-end close and reconciliation processes./liliEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements./liliMonitor cash flow and report on financial trends./liliManage fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules./liliMonitor budget variances and provide insights on financial trends./liliHandle administrative duties such as vendor research, cost analysis, electronic file management, and responding to financial inquiries from local offices./liliSupport finance-related projects, including budgeting initiatives, process improvements, and financial system enhancements./liliIdentify and recommend process improvements for financial operations./liliOther duties as assigned./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliBachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline (preferred)./lili3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably at a nonprofit./liliProven bookkeeping experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations./liliStrong proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)./liliThorough knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, including budgeting, fund accounting, and grant tracking, in accordance with GAAP./liliExperience in grant accounting (preferred)./liliProficiency in accrual accounting, including the ability to create and interpret journal entries./liliAbility to prepare financial statements and reports for management review./liliStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail./liliExcellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey financial information./liliHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines./liliAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)./liliProficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)./li/ulpTo apply: Submit cover letter, updated resume, and three references./ppCAIR-CA is an equal-opportunity employer and adheres to all federal, state, and local laws prohibiting employment discrimination./p/div
