Position Summary Medical Assistant performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records. Clinical duties include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician. Key Responsibilities Verifying patient information by interviewing the patient Confirming the reason for the visit Recording patient's medical history and vital signs Reporting patient history to the physician Scribing notes using an electronic medical record system (EMR) for review and signature by the physicians and APPs. Strong spelling, grammar, and writing skills. Familiarity with medical terminology as well as excellent typing skills are required.
