Location Gilbert Shift Mon-Fri, Sat, Sun (Days Vary); Shifts Vary, 8am-5pm Posting # 1024437 Employee Type Full-Time Position Summary This position leads the department in performing a variety of diagnostic radiography imaging procedures to provide data for diagnosis and monitoring of disease and injuries in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and licensing requirements. The Lead Radiology Technologist coordinates day-to-day workflow of the department to optimize accuracy and efficiency and ensure patients have the best possible experience. The role requires competence in a variety of equipment and technology, performs duties in a range of acute care pediatric-centered settings, and serves as a resource for all team members. Position Duties Performs a variety of diagnostic radiography imaging tests as prescribed, selecting proper techniques to ensure optimal results in accordance with all applicable standards and procedures. Performs regular equipment calibration and maintenance, identifies and troubleshoots malfunctions, and reports service needs and preventive maintenance issues as appropriate. Oversees day-to-day operations of the Diagnostic Radiology department to ensure safe, efficient care of patients throughout acute‑care settings at Phoenix Children’s and clinical sites. Reviews outpatient and surgery schedules to allocate staff and provide collaborative support. Escalates issues to direct supervisor as needed. Coordinates training of new staff technologists and continuous development of department staff. Provides oversight of radiologic technology educational programming, supporting clinical instructors in the development of future technologists. Attends operational meetings and communicates essential information to staff. Responsible for QA/QI management and ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and laws. Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Position Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent. ( Required ) Bachelor’s degree in a related field. ( Preferred ) Experience 5 or more years of radiology experience. ( Preferred ) 1 or more years of experience in a leadership role. ( Preferred ) Pediatric experience. ( Preferred ) Supervisory experience. ( Preferred ) Special Skills Strong leadership skills. Effective communication with staff, patients, and family members, as well as physicians and internal customers. Customer service and service recovery skills. ( Required ) Additional Requirements Current ARRT registration. ( Required ) Current AZ Radiation Regulatory Agency Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners license. ( Required ) Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association.
