Position Details
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform routine grounds and custodial duties. Essential Functions - Typical Duties
Clean and sweep buildings and grounds; maintain facilities in a clean and safe condition; pick up paper and other debris from grounds and buildings; wash windows and walls, clean venetian blinds; empty and clean trash receptacles.
Clean and polish woodwork, furniture and metal surfaces.
Scrape and strip wax from floors; mop and wax floors; vacuum carpets; pick up paper and other debris from turf and landscaped areas, buildings and court.
Clean restrooms; wash floors, disinfect fixtures, polish mirrors, and fill dispensers.
Water plants, shrubs, hedges and lawns; trim hedges, shrubs and trees; weed grounds and gardens; rake leaves.
Clean and polish furniture, woodwork and metal surfaces.
Operate sweepers, floor polishers and other custodial equipment.
Operate light grounds maintenance equipment such as electric shears and edgers.
Make minor repairs to buildings and grounds system and equipment; change light bulbs.
Set up for meetings at assigned facility for District functions and community events as directed.
Assist in cleaning kitchens and cafeterias.
Assist with plant security by notifying appropriate authorities concerning intruders or other potential threats to security of facilities and grounds or safety of persons.
Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to: completion of tenth grade and one year custodial or grounds work experience.
• Health and Welfare Plan for employees and eligible dependents. Plan includes District/Employee paid premium for health, dental, and vision.
• Paid Vacation: Vacation is prorated based on months worked per year and longevity with the District.
• Holidays: 16 days paid per fiscal year
