Commercial Underwriting Counsel Attorney - Hybrid Tampa or Remote US

Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid) or Remote US (FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, DC, NY, IL, MN, CA) | Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid (3 days/week in Tampa‑metro office) or Remote for approved candidates | Compensation: $100,000+ based on experience and qualifications Overview Our client, a national leader in commercial title and escrow services, is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Counsel Attorney to provide underwriting guidance on complex commercial real estate transactions. This role suits a commercial real estate attorney or experienced title underwriter who enjoys applying legal analysis to real-world problems and partnering with internal teams and clients to deliver top‑tier service. What you'll do Provide underwriting support and counsel on the issuance of title commitments and policies Interpret and apply underwriting standards within delegated authority Advise colleagues on real estate settlement procedures and requirements Support resolution of title issues and guide transaction strategy Communicate underwriting decisions to internal teams and external partners Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement Required qualifications JD from an ABA-accredited law school required Active Bar Admission in Florida or the state of residence (if remote), in good standing 5-7 years of substantive experience in title insurance underwriting or comparable commercial real estate experience in a law firm setting Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, including federal and Florida (or state of residence) regulations Proven ability to interpret and apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits Solid understanding of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance, and commercial real estate closing settlement processes, and applicable federal and state regulations Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders and clients Strong analytical, negotiation, and business acumen Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage significant transaction volume Effective verbal and written communicator who can deliver guidance with clarity, professionalism, and diplomacy Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and provide practical solutions Collaborative mindset with the ability to act decisively when needed Creative, solution-oriented approach to resolving complex title challenges Ability to work hybrid, three days a week, in a Tampa‑metro area office (unless approved for remote work) Compensation and benefits Salary: $100,000+, based on experience and qualifications Quarterly bonus participation Employee Stock Purchase Plan Robust benefits package: top‑tier medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance 401(k) plan with employer matching Paid parental leave Generous PTO and sick leave, plus additional perks Why this role This position offers the chance to impact a high-visibility commercial platform, work on sophisticated commercial transactions, and collaborate with an experienced team of real estate professionals, with meaningful autonomy and direct access to leadership. #J-18808-Ljbffr Software Placement Group
