Senior Accountant

Senior AccountantOur client is seeking a dynamic Senior Accountant to oversee various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Capital Assets, and Month-End Close. The role involves preparing standard reports, such as earnings, shipments, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost accounting. The Senior Accountant collaborates across all organizational functions, demonstrating strong analytical skills and a commitment to delivering accurate and detailed work.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage all general ledger processes and activitiesEnsure accuracy of operating and financial reportsProvide advice on resource utilization and methods to managementInterpret accounts and records for managementOversee daily operations of the accounting departmentManage month-end and year-end close processes, including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, expenditure variance analysis, capital assets, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset activity.Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reportsEstablish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principlesMeet financial accounting objectivesEstablish and maintain fiscal files and records for transaction documentationSupport the annual budget and audit processesPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting / Accounting DepartmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Proven working experience as an Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Senior Accountant.Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databasesKnowledge of financial statements, financial reporting, and other financial reportsAbility to review and analyze quantitative information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailProcess analysis and re-engineering skills, including streamlining processes and system requirementsStrong organizational and prioritization skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with othersLeadership and supervision capabilitiesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance5 to 7 years of experience in an accounting leadership roleExceptional leadership abilitiesStrong problem-solving skillsDESIRABLES:CPA CertificationFurniture industry experience preferredManufacturing experienceEFFORT:Must work full-timeOccasional travel required (Conover, NC)Must be a self-starter
