Job Description The Registered Nurse II on the Pediatric ICU reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients. The RN delivers safe and effective care and collaborates with the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. Requirements Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum one year of work experience as a registered nurse. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. For RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree: must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within four years of hire or reclassification. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or equivalent). Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods. Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams. Capacity to lift and move patients or equipment as needed. Good visual acuity and color perception to read medical charts, documents, and monitors. Good auditory ability to communicate with patients and colleagues and to perceive important sounds such as alarms. Stamina and resilience to handle long shifts and potentially stressful situations. Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.
