Payments & Refunds Specialists are responsible for delivering AmTrav’s highest standard of service, ensuring travelers’ critical issues are resolved efficiently and with care. This is a back-office role—you won’t be working directly with clients, but instead partnering with hotels and vendors to make sure every traveler’s needs are met. Success in this role comes down to strong communication, sharp prioritization, and a genuine team-first mindset. If you thrive managing multiple accounts, juggling timelines, and keeping things moving behind the scenes, this one’s for you. What You\'ll Do Make a high volume of outbound calls to hotels and travel vendors on behalf of our travelers. Contact hotels to obtain folios, receipts, and other required documentation. Follow up with travelers and travel administrators to collect updated payment information when needed. Create and distribute pre-authorization forms, including prepaid payment forms and virtual credit cards. Coordinate directly with hotels to resolve payment issues and assist with credit card reversals. Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates to ensure a seamless traveler experience. What We\'re Looking For Previous travel industry experience is a plus, but not required—we\'re happy to train the right candidate. Spanish-language proficiency is a bonus but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to listen, empathize, and build rapport. Comfortable receiving coaching and feedback in a performance-driven environment focused on continuous development. Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting with minimal supervision. Proficient with Windows-based applications and comfortable working on a computer for extended periods. A positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude when interacting with both travelers and colleagues. Demonstrated ability to meet performance goals and maintain a strong, reliable work history. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The anticipated hourly wage is between $20-$22 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on specific qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors. Shift looking to fill Monday-Friday 12pm-9pm CST OFF: Saturday/Sunday. Training Schedule Monday-Friday 8am-430pm CST for 4 weeks (HYBRID in the Chicago office) AI at Perk AI is embedded in how we work across every function. The tools you\'ll use day-to-day are AI-enabled so you can move faster and spend more time on the work that matters. In practice, that means using AI to research and prioritise accounts, draft and refine outreach, handle customer interactions more effectively, synthesise information, and cut through shadow work - the invisible tasks that pull people away from the work only they can do - so you can focus on relationships and outcomes. We don\'t expect you to be an AI expert, but we do expect you to be curious and intentional about it. The bar is judgment: knowing when AI makes your work better, when to verify what it produces, and when to rely on your own expertise instead. We\'ll ask about how you use AI in your interviews, not to test tool knowledge, but to understand how you think about it. That reflects how we work every day. How We Work At Perk, we take an IRL-first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs.
