Maintenance Technician I Wanted!Salary range is $26.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience, with an excellent personal time off policy and 401(k) and Profit-Sharing!About the JobGFS Chemicals is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join our Shared Services Division at our McKinley Avenue location. The Maintenance Technician I performs a variety of maintenance duties to reduce equipment down time, help with equipment installations, maintain building facilities, and grounds upkeep. The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks and assisting higher-level technicians. This role is ideal for individuals starting their careers in maintenance, offering hands-on training and exposure to a variety of systems and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections and preventive maintenance (e.g., lubricating machinery, replacing filters, changing light bulbs)Assist in basic repairs of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems under direct supervisionMaintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, facilities, and company groundsDocument maintenance activities and report issues to supervisorsFollow safety protocols and company proceduresQualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate, Bachelor's Degree, or maintenance certification program, preferred1 to 2 years of maintenance experience or relevant training preferredAdvanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systemsBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to use hand tools and basic power toolsGood communication and teamwork skillsAbout GFS ChemicalsGFS Chemicals is a family-owned and operated business based in Columbus, Ohio, serving customers worldwide since 1928.
