Full Time Salary Range: $90,000–$100,000 | Reports to: Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events

In person with 2 days a week remote

A full room, a well-run agenda, and a flawless logistics plan aren't just operational details; they're how members experience the value of their membership and how the Chamber builds the relationships that drive our advocacy and economic development work forward.

This role is the engine behind that experience. The Senior Vice President of Events and Program Management is responsible for executing 15–17 signature events a year and leading three flagship Chamber programs that connect business leaders across New Mexico and in Washington, D.C. This is a production role at its core: every script, every hotel contract, every seating chart, every dollar of budget has to come together so that members feel the Chamber is worth their time — and so we meet our financial targets doing it.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Vice President of Events and Program Management plans and executes the Chamber's full annual events calendar and manages three flagship programs, working closely with the Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events on program direction, speaker selection, and special event requests. This person also coordinates as needed with the President & CEO and the SVP of Government Affairs for planning and speaker alignment on relevant events and programs. This person owns the details — from the first script draft to the final seating chart — and is accountable for filling the room and hitting budget on every event.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Execution (15–17 events annually):

- Plan and execute the Chamber's full event slate, including 6 Connection Events, 8 Membership Meetings, and 1 Virtual Meeting

- Write meeting scripts for each event

- Manage all hotel logistics, including venue contracts, room setup, seating arrangements, and staging

- Assign and coordinate event staff

- Manage VIP invitations and sponsor reservations

- Prepare event invitation content and work with the Chamber's graphic designer to produce invitations while meeting member notification deadlines

- Build and manage budgets for each individual event, and manage the events budget as a whole across the year

- Execute special events as requested

Program Management (2–3 flagship programs):

- Roadrunner Program — Plan and organize a two-day goodwill ambassador trip for a group of 25 Albuquerque business leaders to selected cities in New Mexico

- Congressional Delegation Leadership Trip — Manage logistics and execution of an 8-person leadership delegation trip to Washington, D.C.

- Intercity Visits — Coordinate educational visits with Chamber volunteers as requested

- Report directly to the Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events on event performance, budget status, and planning timelines

- Work closely with the President & CEO, EVP of Government Affairs, Chamber Volunteer Leadership, and Executive Vice President of Operations, Finance and Events on speaker selection, program direction, and event strategy

- Coordinate with Chamber staff and external vendors to ensure seamless execution across all events and programs

- Every event runs on script, on time, and on budget

- Rooms are full and members leave feeling the Chamber delivered value

- Hotel and vendor logistics are handled with zero surprises

- Flagship programs (Roadrunner, Congressional Delegation, Intercity Visits) run smoothly and deliver a strong experience for participants

- Budget targets are met across individual events and the annual events portfolio

WHO YOU ARE

- You have 4-5 years of experience in event planning, production, or program management, ideally within a membership organization, chamber of commerce, nonprofit, or hospitality/events environment

- You know how to build an event budget and you know how to hit it — every time

- You've negotiated hotel and venue contracts and you don't get rattled by logistics curveballs

- You write clearly and confidently, and you're comfortable drafting scripts, programs, and event materials from scratch

- You can run multiple events and programs at once without dropping a deadline

- You're at ease with VIPs, sponsors, elected officials, and senior business leaders — and you know how to make them feel taken care of

- You're willing and able to travel for the Roadrunner Program and the Congressional Delegation Trip

- You're organized, detail-obsessed, and you notice the thing that's about to go wrong before it does

- You're proactive by nature — you don't wait to be told there's a problem; you're already solving it

— COMPENSATION —

$90,000–$100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
