Accounting Specialist
Our client, a leading non-profit organization providing a valued community service with a mission anyone can get behind, is looking for an Accounting Specialist. The organization offers a team-oriented culture and provides its employees with the tools and training necessary to perform.
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage Housing Related Social Needs (HRSN) program billing, including rent and utility payments for participants and invoicing the State for reimbursement.
- Accurately enter invoices and participant data into multiple online portals, ensuring compliance with each system's requirements.
- Prepare and submit monthly reimbursement requests in accordance with funding source guidelines.
- Gather and verify supporting documentation for all invoicing.
- Track multiple funding sources and apply correct billing processes depending on program requirements.
- Review and code accounts payable transactions, including employee reimbursements and program expenses.
- Process and verify credit card transactions, using Excel to ensure proper coding and allocations.
- Support transition from MIP accounting system to Intacct.
Experience preferred for the Accounting Specialist:
- Familiarity with processes within a grant/donation funded organization
- Solid understanding of the general ledger, including debits/credits
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communicator
- Tech savvy with strong proficiency in ERP accounting systems and Excel
- Flexibility in adapting to evolving processes and funding requirements.
