Shipping Supervisor

Walker, MI, US Responsibilities Work with the Logistics Manager to identify priorities for the Logistics team Manage a team of forklift operators to perform the duties assigned to meet the set priorities Ensure proper loading and unloading of trailers Ensure that production lines are kept stocked and prepped to run Conduct cycle counts on a weekly basis Electronically verify hours worked by the Logistics team on a daily and weekly basis Approve vacation requests as workload dictates Ensure the warehouse area is kept clean and orderly Serve as a backup to the Logistics Manager What it Takes Five‑years’ experience in a manufacturing and shipping environment required Ability to multi‑task and produce accurate work in a fast‑paced environment Ability to supervise through coaching, inspiring employees to perform at their best Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with a highly diverse environment Ability to retain technical information Computer literate in Microsoft Products and experience with diverse shipping platforms; experience with Amtech would be an advantage Self‑starter and team player General high level of enthusiasm and creative ability How You Will Contribute Understand and adapt to a Coaching style of supervision, guiding the team and helping them understand the purpose and impact of their work Hold the team accountable for the tasks they are assigned, focusing on performance rather than personality Support company and departmental policies and procedures by example, holding yourself and the team accountable Maintain the highest levels of safety, quality and housekeeping standards Interact with customer service and production for smooth, total quality order shipments Process paperwork accurately for outgoing shipments in a fast‑paced environment Oversee loading and unloading of trailers Protect and keep product free from damage Participate in monthly physical inventory procedures, including Saturdays when required Receive product with accuracy and on a timely basis in the Manufacturing & Shipping database – Amtech Perform all tasks assigned by the Shipping Manager Benefits Competitive pay & benefits: Base salary based on experience, quarterly bonus program, and a comprehensive benefits package Continuous learning: Paid training and development opportunities to grow your skills and advance your career Company culture: Supportive and collaborative team dedicated to helping you reach your potential and delight customers We are committed to building a diverse workforce that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills at all levels. #J-18808-Ljbffr
