Race Winning Brands has an immediate opening for a Cost Accounting Manager at our headquarters located in Mentor, OH.

The Cost Accounting Manager at Race Winning Brands is responsible for overseeing daily, weekly, and monthly costing activities, maintaining labor & overhead calculations, manufacturing variance analysis and inventory reconciliations. This role is hands-on and operationally focused, supporting profitability and inventory control across all U.S.-based entities. 1-2 direct reports.

Reporting to the Corporate Controller - leads the effort across the company to control (design and set policy) for all aspects of product standard costing.

Drives efforts, cross-functionally, to ensure the needs of the standard cost system are accomplished and provide the business with data to drive decisions.

Supports product gross margin analysis, via costing data trends.

Analyzes monthly manufacturing results, to ensure overhead rates are in line with budget expectations. Including: spend, volume, mix. Works with sites and consolidated information.

Explains variances: volume, spending - as it pertains to manufacturing output - consolidated and via input from each Brand.

Delineates site cost structure into fixed and variable - to aid with use in product and product line profitability analysis (and) cost setting.

Leads the effort of supplying product costs for purposes of price setting on new business items.

Builds ad hoc models to understand profitability impact for things such as Excess & Obsolete inventory.

Drives change, working cross-functionally, to improve business results through data driven metrics.

Maintains proper inventory reserves and fully manages monthly variance capitalization schedules (capitalizing period variances into inventory - releasing them to the P/L associated with inventory turns).

Measures and reports out on PPV (trending and analysis).

Leads, mentors, and motivates staff.

Other ad hoc reports and duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field

5+ years of Costing management experience in a U.S.-based organization

Strong knowledge of variance analysis and systematic corrections

ERP experience (e.g., MAS, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)

Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills

Strong Excel skills and Power BI / AI enhancements
