Job Title: Skilled MIG Welder
Job Description
As a Skilled MIG Welder, you will be responsible for welding, fitting, and assembling structural steel components within a dynamic fabrication shop environment. You will produce high-quality welds on various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, while closely collaborating with fitters and team members to ensure proper alignment, adherence to quality standards, and timely production of infrastructure-related products.
Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints for accurate welding and assembly.
• Set up and operate welding equipment efficiently.
• Produce consistent, high-quality welds with proper penetration and bead appearance.
• Perform welding in multiple positions such as flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
• Ensure joint preparation and utilize root pass and cap pass techniques.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure proper alignment and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG (GMAW) welding for structural steel and fabrication.
• Ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
• Experience welding in multiple positions.
• Knowledge of joint preparation and welding techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2 years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication or production environment.
• Experience with structural steel or heavy fabrication projects.
• Ability to pass a weld test in positions such as 3G/4G and plate welding.
• Familiarity with AWS standards (D1.1) for structural welding.
• Experience working under Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Basic knowledge of welding inspection and quality requirements.
• Trade school certification or completion of a welding program.

This is a Permanent position based out of West Caldwell, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $47840.00/yr.
