Account Manager

The Account Manager is responsible for generating business from retailers and CPG clients and maximizing market penetration of RTC products and services. This role combines prospecting for new clients with growing sales in existing accounts. Target accounts will be set collaboratively with Sales Management based on territory, expertise, availability, and existing relationships.

Essential functions include driving sales growth with assigned accounts through new product/service development and program expansion, prospecting, qualifying, and opening new customer relationships within assigned territory, developing and executing a Strategic Territory Sales Plan in coordination with the Director of Sales, creating and delivering professional presentations, samples, and sales materials, submitting complete project information to internal teams, collaborating with Customer Service and Manufacturing to resolve customer issues promptly and satisfactorily, maintaining accurate, timely territory data in the Sales CRM, preparing customer quotations based on estimates and managing quoting/bid/RFP processes, adapting standard products to meet customer requirements, preparing sales forecasts, reports, travel itineraries, and expense reports, attending sales meetings, training, trade shows, and industry events as directed, keeping current on RTC's product and service portfolio and regularly introducing relevant offerings to customers, balancing customer advocacy with RTC's business objectives, participating in A/R collection when appropriate, maintaining industry knowledge by reading trade publications and conducting regular retail store visits, and supporting corporate initiatives as needed.

Skills and attributes include being self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to generate future business, having strong verbal and written communication skills, being able to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities, eagerness to learn and adapt, proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems, financial literacy with a basic understanding of costs, pricing, and margin drivers, and willingness and ability to travel.

Education and experience requirements include a Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent relevant experience, minimum 35 years of outside sales success, preferably in team-based environments, related industry experience is a plus, sales aptitude, understanding of manufacturing materials/processes used by the company, strong written and verbal communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
