Histological Scientist / Histotechnologist

Job Title

Job Overview: Pay Range: $35.36hr - $40.36hr

The Scientist II will support laboratory research activities involving tissue processing, embedding, staining, and histological analysis. The role requires expertise in histological techniques, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and laboratory protocol optimization to support research and imaging objectives in a collaborative scientific environment.

Requirement/Must Have

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in tissue processing, tissue staining, and tissue embedding in a research or clinical laboratory setting.
• Proficiency in histological techniques including paraffin embedding and cryosectioning.
• Expertise in immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), and histological staining methods.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize tissue preparation protocols.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and quality control standards.

Experience

• Experience performing tissue processing and sample preparation for laboratory analysis.
• Experience with paraffin and frozen tissue embedding techniques.
• Experience conducting histological staining and imaging preparation procedures.
• Experience collaborating with research teams on experimental design and data interpretation.
• Experience maintaining laboratory documentation, records, and inventory.
• Experience with HPLC, ocular tissue, or skin tissue preferred.
• 3D printing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute tissue processing procedures to prepare high-quality samples for analysis.
• Perform tissue embedding using paraffin and frozen section techniques.
• Conduct tissue staining including IHC, IF, and histological staining procedures.
• Troubleshoot and optimize laboratory protocols to ensure high-quality and reproducible results.
• Collaborate with researchers to support experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of findings.
• Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, results, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and quality control procedures.
• Support research activities in a collaborative laboratory environment.

Should Have

• Experience with HPLC applications.
• Experience working with ocular tissue or skin tissue.
• Experience with 3D printing technologies in research environments.

Qualification And Education
