Credentials & Qualifications That Are Required Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree from an AVMA accredited college or university. Board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist (DACVIM), or the successful completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine. Current DEA license in good standing.
