Responsibilities
- Plan and provide nursing care for obstetric patients across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including management of emergencies and circulating for C-sections.
- Assess and monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications per protocol; ensure safety, infection control, and patient comfort.
- Supervise and delegate care tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice; collaborate with the CNA team as appropriate.
- Document care and patient status in the medical record; prepare for handoffs and discharge planning.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies, assist with rapid responses and codes as needed; provide resuscitation support when required.
- Educate patients and their families about care plans, postpartum self-care, newborn care, and discharge instructions.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse (RN) license in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Labor and Delivery nursing experience preferred (1 year)
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts; availability for a travel assignment
- Ability to meet credentialing and health requirements typical for travel assignments
