Mechanical Insulation Estimator (Hybrid → Remote After 3 Months)

Location: Winter Haven Florida (Hybrid for first 90 days, then eligible for remote work)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‐oriented Mechanical Insulation Estimator to join our estimating department. The ideal candidate has experience reading mechanical plans, performing digital takeoffs, and preparing competitive bids for insulation scopes. After a 3‐month onboarding period, this role transitions to fully remote based on performance and proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed takeoffs for mechanical insulation , HVAC duct insulation, plumbing insulation, and specialty systems
• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and RFI responses
• Prepare labor and material estimates using company standards
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Develop bid proposals and assist with value‐engineering options
• Maintain organized documentation for all bids and revisions
• Participate in pre‐bid meetings and project turnover meetings

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical insulation estimating or mechanical/HVAC estimating
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with digital takeoff software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, etc.)
• Knowledge of insulation materials, installation methods, and industry standards
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
