Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled PICU Nurse to provide specialized care to pediatric patients up to age 25. This role involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring clinical expertise and compassionate patient engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric intensive care patients, including monitoring vital signs and administering medication.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Conduct assessments, recognize ECG rhythms, and manage inotropes as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, certifications, and licensure requirements.
• Complete accurate documentation of patient care activities, assessments, and interventions.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing education modules to maintain certifications and skills.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Ohio RN license or compact state license at the time of submission.
• Possess at least 18 months of recent pediatric ICU or pediatric specialty experience, including epilepsy monitoring and specialized age group care.
• Demonstrate proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition and medication administration, including inotropes.
• Provide one recent managerial or supervisory reference within the past 12 months.
• Maintain current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and in some cases NIHHS preferred.
• Pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation with acceptable scores.
