Manager, Product Group Engineering, PLM

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Manager of Product Group Engineering for Product Lifecycle Management to lead PLM capabilities across product development, change management, and sustainment for the orthopaedics business. The role oversees platform strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and team leadership while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead PLM product group engineering activities supporting R&D and product development across full lifecycle from concept through commercialization
- Own PLM platform capabilities, configurations, integrations, and roadmaps aligned with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing needs
- Drive application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms and accelerate product development
- Ensure PLM solutions comply with regulatory, quality, and data integrity requirements including design controls and change management
- Lead and develop team of engineers and analysts, providing technical direction and performance management
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field
- 6-8 years progressive experience in PLM, engineering systems, or R&D IT with enterprise platform hands-on work
- Understanding of product development and lifecycle processes in regulated medical device or life sciences environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop engineering teams with coaching and performance management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, including senior-level influence
- Experience managing vendors, system integrators, or external partners in global settings
