About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Accounting to oversee the intricate financial operations of its family office and affiliated nonprofit organizations. This hands-on role demands a professional with a strong background in individual, entity, and investment accounting, as well as financial reporting and accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end accounting lifecycle, including individual capital accounts, balance sheet reconciliation, and the preparation of customized reporting packages. Additionally, the VP of Accounting will be involved in financial statement preparation, maintaining general ledger integrity, and overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes. Applicants for the Vice President of Accounting position at the company should hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a Master's degree being a plus. A CPA is required, and additional certifications such as CFP, CFA, or MST are advantageous. The role requires 7-10 years' of relevant experience, preferably within a professional accounting firm, multi-family office, or similar environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of GAAP, experience with multi-entity and consolidated accounting, and a background in personal financial reporting for high-net-worth individuals. Advanced Excel skills, experience with accounting software, and a high level of discretion and confidentiality are essential. The role also demands excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, strategic support capacity.
