Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and support Seafood associates on job responsibilities, company policies, food safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.
• Assist with scheduling department associates to support efficient operations and payroll goals.
• Prepare, review, and submit warehouse orders to maintain appropriate inventory levels, ensure product availability, minimize shrink, and support department sales.
• Receive, inspect, stock, rotate, and merchandise seafood products according to company standards.
• Monitor inventory levels, product freshness, expiration dates, and department conditions throughout the day.
• Prepare, package, label, and display seafood products according to company quality and presentation standards.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, OSHA, and company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive sales floor, prep area, cooler, and backroom. Ensure all products are properly labeled with the date of receipt and stored according to company food safety and inventory rotation procedures for Seafood and Cremeria.
• Use the store microphone to announce promotions, special offers, featured products, and other department or store communications to enhance customer shopping experience and support sales.
• Verify pricing accuracy, promotional signage, and product labeling to maintain price integrity.
• Support merchandising initiatives, planograms, and promotional displays to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, fulfilling special requests, and resolving customer concerns professionally.
• Follow all safety procedures and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous seafood, meat, grocery, or food service experience required.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of seafood handling, storage, preparation, and food safety practices.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Basic English communication skills are preferred but not required; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Essential Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours or more per shift.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
• Ability to use hands and fingers for repetitive motions, including cutting, trimming, packaging, labeling, and handling seafood products.
• Ability to safely operate seafood department equipment, including knives, seafood saws, scales, wrapping equipment, pallet jacks, and other department tools.
• Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periods.
• Ability to maintain visual acuity and manual dexterity necessary to safely perform essential job functions.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves when required, and comply with all food safety and sanitation procedures.
