Position Summary

The Marathon Detroit Michigan Refinery has an opening for a pump mechanical mobile operator.

Pay and Benefits:

• $43.77/hour with scheduled annual increases
• Company sponsored annual bonus with target of 6% of eligible wages
• 401k with company match up to 7%

Key Responsibilities

-Repair, troubleshoot, and install rotating equipment, including:

• Centrifugal, axial, and reciprocating compressors
• Centrifugal, diaphragm and positive displacement pumps
• Chemical injection pumps
• Turbine and motor-driven equipment drives

-Use of precision measuring instruments

-Read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics

-Complete maintenance documentation, reports and measurement forms

-Follow refinery work permit procedures and safety standards

-Operate and maintain qualifications for mobile equipment such as:

• Forklifts
• Telehandlers
• Man Lifts

-Obtain NCCCO Fixed Cab Crane Certification within 9 months of hire date, if not already certified.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to wear appropriate PPE and perform physical field work.
• Must pass a DOT physical.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
• Must pass both a written test and a hands-on skill demonstration test.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience operating and maintaining: Manual Lathes, Milling Machines, Surface Grinders
