Accounting Supervisor

Accounting Supervisor – (Contract) American Canyon, CA – Onsite You are an Accounting Supervisor to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, audits, and the accounting team. This role manages general and subsidiary ledgers, AP/AR functions, month-end close, financial analysis, inventory, and compliance while supporting agency fiscal policies and business needs. This position pays : $45.00 to $50.00 per hour What you will be doing Supervise and support all accounting staff and maintain accounting procedures. Oversee weekly AP/AR processing, cash-flow reporting, and aging reports. Manage the monthly close calendar, journal entries, and general ledger. Prepare and/or oversee monthly balance-sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Reconcile fixed-asset subsidiary records and maintain accurate asset listings. Prepare monthly financial statements and analytical reports covering trends, costs, and revenues. Assist with annual budgets, budgeting templates, and accounting-system input. Review annual 1099s and ensure timely vendor and IRS filings. Prepare audit documentation and coordinate audit-related requests. Conduct bank deposits, change runs, and inventory management across warehouse locations. Maintain compliance with agency fiscal and personnel policies and provide quality customer service. What you bring Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 5+ years of accounting experience; equivalent accounting experience may substitute for part of the education requirement. Experience across full-cycle accounting, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting. Nonprofit, grant, retail, AP/AR, or similar accounting experience preferred. Experience with accounting software and strong spreadsheet development skills. Highly organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and the public.
