Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: Full-time Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Saturday on Rotation 8:00 AM - Noon Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state Board of Nursing Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and equipment Description: The nurse prescribes and coordinates professional nursing care for assigned patients. Responsibilities are carried out independently within the guidelines of accepted nursing practice, medical direction, and hospital policies. The nurse utilizes the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care. Duties include providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions to ensure optimal outcomes. Collaboration with physicians, fellow nurses, and other healthcare professionals is essential to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Accurate and detailed medical records of patients' conditions, treatments, and progress must be maintained. Any changes or concerns are to be reported promptly to the appropriate team members. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring adherence to hospital policies and protocols. Educating patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and preventive measures to promote overall wellness is crucial. The nurse offers emotional support and advocates for patients' rights, ensuring they receive compassionate and respectful care. Compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines is necessary to maintain a safe and ethical work environment. The nurse is expected to stay updated on medical advancements, best practices, and industry standards through ongoing professional development activities. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
