Nurse Manager
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. This position will support our Sports Medicine Service lines with locations at C Street (Sacramento, CA) and Edwards Family Athletics Center (Davis, CA). The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager supports research, participates in both long- and short-term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. The Nurse Manager is accountable to the Practice Manager and Director of Ambulatory Nursing Practice. The Nurse Manager will collaborate with the Physician Medical Director and Practice Manager on workflows, program development, and patient experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and a Master's of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) or other related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree (in a field other than nursing) paired with MSN is accepted.
- At least three (3) years of (RN) nursing management or supervisor experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of (RN) nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification of field of practice preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification AMB-BC, NE-BC, or NEA-BC certification.
- Experience and knowledge of the MSK specialty.
- Recent experience in a surgical clinic setting.
- Telephone triage/case management.
- Surgical case management.
- Referral triage management.
- Out patient orthopedics experience.
- Out patient PM&R experience.
- Out patient sports medicine experience.
- Out patient surgical specialty clinic experience.

Department Overview:
Registered Nurses, Vocational Nurses, and Medical Assistants in the Sports Medicine and Edwards Athletics Center Sports departments at UC Davis Health provide care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of medical surgical and/or ambulatory needs.
Department Specific Job Scope:
This position will provide nurse management support at both the Sports Medicine clinic in Sacramento as well as the Edwards Athletics Center Sports Medicine clinic on the Davis Campus. This position will travel between the two sites.

Work Environment:
