Category Strategy Sr. Manager, CPG and Retail (Temp)

We are looking for a Category Strategy Sr. Manager, CPG & Retail (Temp) to join a top entertainment company at their New York City office! In this role, you'll support the Category Strategy Director by developing strategic narratives, insights, and go-to-market strategies that help drive advertising sales revenue across the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and Retail verticals.

• Location: New York City, NY (Onsite)
• Duration: 6-month contract
• Pay Rate: $80/hour

Responsibilities:

• Support the Category Strategy Director and Vice President in developing category and client strategic narratives, go-to-market strategies, and insights that drive ad sales revenue.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Research, Client/Marketing Solutions, Data Enablement, Sales, and Sales Communications to contribute to RFP responses, custom analyses, and presentations.
• Set up and manage measurement studies using internal research teams and syndicated data sources.
• Develop evidence-based narratives that strengthen the company's advertising value proposition.
• Analyze syndicated research to identify audience opportunities across the company's media portfolio.
• Monitor consumer media trends, industry measurement solutions, and the competitive landscape.
• Present strategic findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mine syndicated data sources such as MRI, Nielsen NPower, YouGov, AdIntel, SMI, EDO, Pathmatics, and MarketCast to develop actionable insights.
• Serve as a liaison between Category Strategy, Research, and Sales to develop client measurement plans and KPIs.
• Contribute to building an inclusive and collaborative work environment.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in advertising, media, and/or marketing.
• Experience within the CPG and/or Retail categories preferred.
• Agency, client-side, or media company strategy/sales development experience.
• Strong background in multi-platform media measurement, addressable media, and data-driven solutions.
• Experience using tools such as Nielsen NPower, Comscore, social listening platforms, and other syndicated research sources.
• Knowledge of cross-platform attribution vendors for measuring brand lift and sales lift.
• Business-minded approach with strong strategic thinking skills.
• Creative problem solver with an innovative mindset.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills with experience presenting to internal and external partners.
• Passion for entertainment, media, and the advertising industry.
