Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists technicians with concert nights, movie nights, cirque shows and other staged shows and public events. Perform a variety of set up and tear down operations for stage, sound, lighting and other general stage duties.

UNIQUE JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to work night shifts. Must be comfortable climbing and working at heights up to 30 feet. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.


JOB TASKS (IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
- Assist with set up of sound and lighting systems and audio visual.
- Serve as part of stage crew team.
- Operate follow spot as needed.
- Adjust lighting fixture working on both ground level and on truss.
- Assist with set up and tear down and storing of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Summer Entertainment Audio:
- Setup, operate and strike audio gear for the daytime summer entertainment.
- Work with summer entertainment and the Tech Service staff to best serve the needs of the show.
- Be able to work all summer entertainment shows.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Some stage, sound or lighting experience helpful.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of proper use and handling of basic hand tools.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to follow safety practices and proper lifting procedures.
- Ability to use various stage and lighting equipment.
- Ability to identify hardware (nuts, bolts, screws etc.).
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to climb lighting truss and perform tasks (bending,stretching, pulling and repairing) while on truss.
- Ability to work independently to complete projects.
- Ability to keep information confidential.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to lift 70 pounds from ground to waist height.
- Bi-manual dexterity.
- Able to stand and to walk for up to 8 hours at a time.
- Able to climb and work at heights up to 30 feet.
- Able to hear normal conversation, read instructions and write documentation.
- Able to move equipment which would include pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping and shoving.
- Able to work in a noisy environment.
