Role Description The Sales Associate at Target Optical in Phoenix, AZ is a full-time, on-site role focused on delivering an exceptional guest experience. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, understanding their vision and style needs, and guiding them through frame and lens selections that best match their preferences and prescriptions. The Sales Associate supports sales goals by presenting product options, explaining promotions, and processing transactions accurately and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks also involve maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, assisting with merchandising and inventory, and coordinating with the optical team to ensure smooth appointment flow. The role requires consistent collaboration with opticians and doctors to help guests receive timely, high-quality eye care and eyewear solutions. Qualifications Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to actively listen, understand guest needs, and provide personalized recommendations. Sales and retail skills, including product presentation, upselling or cross-selling, and comfort working toward individual and store performance targets. Communication and interpersonal skills, such as clear verbal communication, positive guest interaction, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Organization and operational skills, including basic cash handling, point-of-sale system use, attention to detail, and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace. Interest in vision care and fashion, with the ability to learn product features, frame styles, lens options, and brand differences to guide guest choices. Ability to stand for extended periods, move between work areas, and support a fast-paced retail environment while following safety and compliance guidelines. Prior retail, optical, or customer-facing experience is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training is essential.
