Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports and more.Come build a career you believe in.About the RoleAs a Community Maintenance Technician at Z Modular, supporting the FLATZ 602 community in Phoenix, AZ, you play a key role in maintaining the functionality, safety, and overall appearance of a multifamily apartment community.This position supports day-to-day maintenance operations by completing service requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all building systems operate efficiently. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, value safety and quality, and take pride in providing excellent service to residents and team members.What You’ll DoAssist with completing make-ready units in accordance with Z Modular standardsTroubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, appliances, plumbing, and electrical systemsPerform minor carpentry, drywall repairs, and paintingRespond promptly to resident service and maintenance requestsRe-key locks and cut keys as neededConduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of property equipment and vacant unitsMaintain pool areas, including chemical balance and safety complianceIdentify and address safety hazards throughout the propertyMaintain cleanliness of common areas, sidewalks, and amenitiesRemove trash and debris and power wash surfaces as neededSupport landscaping upkeep by raking rocks and removing weedsMonitor inventory of tools, supplies, and materialsMaintain accurate documentation of service requests, maintenance activities, and material usageParticipate in the on-call maintenance rotation and respond to emergency requests as requiredProvide professional and courteous service to residents and team membersCollaborate with property management to support resident satisfaction and operational efficiencyWho You Are2–5 years of general maintenance experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredVocational training or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferredEPA Type II or Universal HVAC certification preferred or obtained within 90 daysCertified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred or obtained within 90 daysOSHA safety training preferredGeneral knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, pool maintenance, and appliance repairUnderstanding of building systems and maintenance best practicesStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProficiency with basic computer and mobile applications used for work order trackingStrong organizational and documentation skillsAbility to use hand and power tools safely and effectivelyService-oriented mindset with strong communication and customer service skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAuthorization to work in the United StatesPhysical RequirementsAbility to perform essential job functions including maintenance tasks, inspections, and property upkeepRegular movement throughout the property, including stairs, ladders, and confined spacesWork in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditionsFrequent physical activity: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and repetitive tasksOperation of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance/cleaning equipmentAbility to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 poundsVisual ability to assess equipment and property conditions and read work orders/manualsAbility to hear and respond to equipment sounds and team communicationAll work performed in accordance with established safety protocolsReasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilitiesWhat You’ll GetZ Modular at Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including:Competitive compensationBonus plan and profit-sharing opportunities401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, and vision insuranceTuition assistance programPaid vacation and holidaysEmployee loyalty awards#LI-KF1Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
