Shop Foreman

Direct the daily activities of production employees in the preparation, fabrication of structural steel and detail pieces according to provided drawings and detail instructions. Work closely with other Plant Manager to assure adherence to schedules, efficient use of personnel and skills, production machinery and other resources. Coordinate maintenance of equipment, required supplies and support activities to accomplish production and quality goals. Assure compliance with the company safety program by all employees within assigned area. We are looking for a well‑organized, people person. This person will be responsible for keeping the shop work coordinated and making sure the workers are producing quality products. They MUST be experienced with steel fabrication. Candidate must also have the ability to communicate and work effectively with office managers, field personnel, customers and shop employees. In this position the individual will be responsible for managing shop employees to ensure on‑time completion of projects. The person will also assist shop employees as needed to complete projects. Other responsibilities will include maintaining the production schedule and coordinating production with the company's Management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years of directly related work experience in structural steel fabrication with at least 1 year of experience in a shop supervisory capacity. Complete understanding of drawings, both structural and shop drawings required. AISC certification program experience is a plus. Quality control experience is necessary. The ability to assist in layout, fitting and welding with the production employees. #J-18808-Ljbffr
