Anesthesia TechnicianEverything we do is underscored by a why — and that why is one another.Location: Altru Hospital 1200 South Columbia Road Grand Forks, ND 58201 Pay Range: $18.82 - $28.23Summary: The Anesthesia Technician supports Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgical teams by preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment and supplies. This role ensures safe and efficient anesthesia care by managing equipment setup, stocking materials, assisting in emergency situations, and maintaining compliance with safety and infection-control standards. Hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 8-hour to 12-hour shifts.Essential Job Functions:Sets up and breaks down anesthesia workstations before and after procedures.Cleans, restocks, and prepares airway carts, intubation equipment, and emergency supplies.Assists anesthesia providers with equipment positioning, IV equipment setup, and basic procedural support (non-clinical tasks only).Prepares and restocks anesthesia drugs under the direction and supervision of anesthesia providers and according to facility policy.Supports providers during emergent situations (code blue, rapid response) by preparing airway equipment and supplies.Maintains accurate stock levels of anesthesia supplies, including circuits, masks, airway devices, and medications.Rotates stock and ensures all items are within expiration date.Organizes storage areas for efficiency and compliance.Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.Language Requirements: This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.Physical Demands:• Sit: Rarely (1-4%)• Stand: Continuously (67-100%)• Walk: Continuously (67-100%)• Stoop/Bend: Frequently (34-66%)• Reach: Frequently (34-66%)• Crawl: Rarely (1-4%)• Squat/Crouch/Kneel: Occasionally (5-33%)• Twist: Frequently (34-66%)• Handle/Finger/Feel: Continuously (67-100%)• See: Continuously (67-100%)• Hear: Continuously (67-100%)Weight Demands:• Lift -Floor to Waist Level: Medium (20-40 pounds)• Carry: Medium (20-40 pounds)• Push/Pull: Medium (20-40 pounds)• Slide/Transfer: Medium (20-40 pounds)Working Conditions:• Indoor: Continuously (67-100%)• Outdoor: Not Applicable• Extreme Temperature: Not ApplicableDriving Requirement Definitions:Professional Drivers: Persons who drive as their main responsibility OR transport passengers or hazardous materials.Frequent Drivers: Persons whose main responsibility is not driving, but drive daily or almost daily.Occasional Drivers: Persons who drive from once per month to as frequently as once per week.Infrequent Drivers: Persons who are generally not expected to drive.Driving Requirement for this position: Infrequent DriverMaking a real difference.
